LG smart TVs caught logging audio with screen off and snooping on local devices

Gamers Nexus and security researchers tested retail LG OLED models and found webOS devices actively sweep the home network, map nearby phones and smart devices, and collect the names and signal strengths of neighboring Wi-Fi networks. They also found the TVs can capture microphone audio with the screen off and upload recordings when internet access resumes, with data reportedly feeding LG Ad Solutions; researchers also noted remote code execution vulnerabilities in webOS. LG has not commented on the findings as of publication.
